Picture - Minaret of the Koutubia and Mausoleum of Lallā Zahrāʾ al-Kūch
Lallā Zahrā al-Kūch: The modest white mausoleum which counterbalances the majesty of the Koutubiah minaret remains one of the rare high places of holiness in Marrakech still clearly visible on the famous esplanade. The women of Marrakech, thanks to their filial fervor, ended up saving the tomb of Lallā Zahrā al-Kūch (d. 1618) from oblivion and disappearance. The mausoleum remained walled up for almost three decades. In recent weeks, it has finally been reopened and restored by the Ministry of Habouss and Islamic Affairs.
